When a leak in the laundry caused water damage to the floorboards, New Plymouth home maintenance experts Oncore were called upon to complete a job far bigger than initially thought.
It began as a job replacing water damaged flooring from a flooded laundry, but soon turned into a much larger maintenance project. When asbestos was found in the vinyl and the carpet proved too damaged to reinstall, Oncore home maintenance expert Michelle Bowater was tasked with replacing the floor in the hallway, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, a bedroom and part of the living room.
Michelle’s extensive network of trades professionals came in handy for what started out as a four week job and could potentially have taken three times as long. A proactive approach to sourcing urgent asbestos testing and additional kitchen installation quotes meant when the insurance claim was approved, all systems were go.
The result is a light, bright, modern, and healthy 60m2 residential unit, with professionally laid timber-look vinyl flooring tiles that contrast stylishly with the darker newly laid carpet. This complements the kitchen cabinetry and backsplash which stayed untouched.
Despite the many maintenance challenges this project continued to present to Michelle, her calm communication and expert project management skills ensured homeowner Jake has no further ongoing maintenance issues in his property.
