A rental property in Island Bay, Wellington, required several essential upgrades to enhance its comfort and functionality. The property owner reached out to Oncore repair and maintenance specialist Rachel Kershaw for a full assessment and support with repairs, including a leaky bathroom, non-functioning extractor fan, and an oven door that wouldn’t close. Other issues included a malfunctioning front door lock, clogged spouting, and a damaged fence in need of repair.

After an initial consultation, Rachel worked closely with the property owner to set priorities for the project. First, the team focused on the bathroom, where water damage behind the bath was suspected. Tiles were carefully removed to assess the full extent of the damage, allowing the team to restore the wall structure before retiling. In addition to the wall repairs, the extractor fan was replaced, and the toilet received necessary repairs. To complete the bathroom upgrade, the space was refreshed with a new coat of paint, giving it a clean, updated appearance.

In the kitchen, the Oncore team installed a new oven, cooktop, and rangehood in a stylish black finish, giving the space a modern look and improved functionality. The wooden benchtop was sanded and re-varnished, restoring its original charm and durability.

Outside, Oncore replaced the front door lock, ensuring secure entry. The team also cleared the drains and attended to the wooden garden framing, replacing and repairing sections as needed to improve both appearance and stability.

Rachel Kershaw took charge of coordinating the various trades, ensuring the entire upgrade was completed within a tight seven-day timeline while the tenants were away. Thanks to the seamless execution and detailed planning, the tenants returned to a home with enhanced safety, functionality, and a refreshed aesthetic.
